Thank you for showing an interest in entering the ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships

Below is a short explanation of how to navigate the entry process.

All South African athletes, who are already registered on the system will only have to take note of step 3.

For all international paddlers, the entry process involves 3 simple steps.

    1. Firstly, you will need to create & register a profile on the Paddlesport South Africa registration and entry system.
    2. Once this process is complete, you will need to purchase a license.
    3. Thereafter, you will be able to enter any of the races that are on the program during the weeks of the World Championships. The third step will be to enter the events you wish to take part in.

STEP ONE – REGISTER A PROFILE

    • Access paddler portal via the link https://paddler.paddlesportsa.com/
    • Click on the button REGISTER and you will be taken to a second screen
    • Complete the required information (your password must show three green bars to be accepted)
    • Please do not be overly concerned about the box that refers to “race”. It is a requirement of our government reporting and is not a PSA requirement. You may tick whatever you deem appropriate.
    • Press Register
    • You have now registered a profile on the PSA online system.
    • You will receive a system generated email confirming that you have created a profile.

STEP TWO – PURCHASE A LICENCE

    • Go back to the same portal  paddler.paddlesportsa.com
    • Click on the button LOGIN
    • Enter your passport number and your password created during the REGISTER process
    • In the top right corner of the screen is a MENU option.
    • Click on MENU and navigate to BUY/RENEW LICENCE
    • Licence type: Choose SENIOR INTERNATIONAL FOREIGN
    • Union: Choose INTERNATIONAL
    • Club: Choose INTERNATIONAL
    • Indemnity: Tick the box to accept the declaration
    • Click on PAY NOW
    • You will be taken to a second screen where you can complete your credit card details and click on PAY NOW
    • There is a fee of R200 (around €10) to register on the system
    • You will then receive a system generated email confirming your licence purchase and that it has been sent to the International Administrator for activation (this usually takes approximately 24 hours).
    • Once that process is complete you will be able to enter the event.

STEP THREE – ENTER AN EVENT

  • All of the events that will be held over the weeks of the World Championships (Pirates/Umhlanga race, Mid Week race, World Championships SS1, World Championships SS2, Lifesaving race and Biogen Pete Marlin race) will be reflected on the system.
  • The entry process is now simple.
  • Go back to the same portal  paddler.paddlesportsa.com
  • Click on ENTER A RACE
  • Choose the race you wish to enter from the list (bear in mind that only the world championships will open entries on 14th April – some of the other races will only open their entries a little later)
  • The cost for entering the SS1 race at the world championships is R2000 (around €93 at todays exchange rate, but can fluctuate to around €100). The entry fee will increase closer to the date of the event (see the bulletin for details)
  • If you have entered the SS1 race, the entry fee for the SS2 race will be R600 (around €28)
  • If you are only entering the SS2 race, you will need to pay R600 each.
  • We will be allowing SS2 masters to enter the SS1 race, as well as allowing SS1 entries to the SS2 race. There will be a later start for this.
  • If you wish to paddle a SS2 in the SS1 race, you will need to both enter and pay as an SS1. We will then amend the race entry manually.
  • Please do not worry about age groups, the system will sort that out automatically as long as your date of birth is correct (please check the year).
  • The masters SS2 categories will be calculated by the system. Please remember that the age categories for masters SS2 are calculated as a sum of the 2 ages, and the race categories are in 10 year increments.

The above link can be used to enter all South African canoeing events, including all World Champs events, Pirates-Umhlanga-Pirates and Biogen Pete Marlin race
