Good morning fine athletes, some admin and information for Tuesday, 14th October:

Firstly, those of you who registered yesterday would have received your timing chip. These are massively important. The number on the chip is unique to you. You must keep it until after your last race, where you must hand it in. Lost chips will be charged at R100. Please do not lose them, or swap them by mistake. If you do not have a timing chip, your time will not be taken at the finish. Please ensure that you do not leave them at home on race day. Once all of the registrations have taken place, I will post a list of all entrants, together with your race number, so that you can check for errors.

Secondly, the call on which day we will race, and which course we will use, will need to be made before 8am tomorrow morning (Wednesday). Keep an eye on weather apps such as WindGuru for an indication of what will be used in the thought process.

Thirdly, for those people who are training and doing downwinds, please bear in mind that you do this at your own risk. Please always adhere to the safety protocol of PFD’s, leashes, and SafeTrx. There will be an “official” training session tomorrow morning at 09h00, which will be an out and back (going north only, not across the harbour mouth). Safety boats will be provided.

Fourthly, don’t forget the midweek fun race this afternoon at 4pm. It will be a lap race close to shore, with a prize giving in the marquee afterwards. If you wish to enter, you will need to do so through the same entry portal that you used to enter the World Championships.

Finally, each competitor who registered yesterday will have received a club card, which is pre loaded with an amount, depending on whether you entered SS1, SS2, or both. A R50 deposit for the card was paid. The ladies at the check in table inadvertently did not charge a number of people the deposit at the beginning of registration. If you were one of them, please pass by the registration over the next couple of days and pay.
