A quick note regarding the event after party: This will be held at DUC starting immediately after the medal ceremony.
The club cannot, however, cater for 500 or so individuals and has solicited the services of an outside catering company, who will be putting on a traditional South African “spit braai” (for our overseas visitors, this is a delicious slow-roasted barbeque on a rotisserie spit over open coals).
We have been requested to provide numbers and to secure payment up front. To facilitate this, we have simply created an “event” on our race entry portal that all competitors are registered on.
So, to book your meal ticket at the after party, follow these simple steps: Go to the federation entry portal at paddler.paddlesportsa.com (or the federation website paddlesportsa.co.za, scroll down the front page until you get to “enter a race” and click on that). Then log in using your password. Go to the menu, select events, click on October, click on “World’s After Party”, enter the “event”, pay R299, and you are done.
The system will generate a list of those who have paid and they will be checked on the night.
Bear in mind that the kitchen at the club will not be open that evening, as the staff will be busy assisting at the braai.
The club management have asked for the catering numbers by Saturday, October 11th. After that date, there will, unfortunately be no “late entries”.
This is going to be the best after party ever. You don’t want to go into it hungry.
