The federation in South Africa has been granted a degree of latitude from the onerous requirements of our maritime safety authority.

This has been done on the back of a strict safety protocol which includes a system of proficiency testing. All local paddlers are required to undergo a number of proficiency tests before they are permitted to enter official events, to ensure that they are competent.

In order to facilitate the entry process for all international paddlers to the world championships, we have had to bypass the proficiency testing protocol. As a contingency, we have drawn up an indemnity form that combines most of the relevant qualities of our proficiency tests, together with the content of the indemnity that you agreed to when you registered on our system.

Each entrant will be required to sign a hard copy of this indemnity form at registration before they will be allowed to participate. It is reflected below.

Please read it and familiarise yourself with its contents.
