The attached videos introduces you to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), and SafeTRX.
You must have the NSRI SafeTRX app loaded on to your phone and this will be checked at registration at the safety table.
Please familiarize yourselves with the app.
We will have a NSRI SafeTRX representative at registration to answer any queries you may have.
Please ensure the following.
- Download the NSRI SafeTRX app to your phone.
- Keep the app on your home screen to ensure ease of access.
- Familiarise yourself with the app. Start adding all information as per the videos.
- Test the app on all paddles from now till race days (not really applicable to SA paddlers)
- Ensure your phone battery is fully charged on race day and can “go the distance”.
NB for our visiting internationals
(and those not familiar with NSRI SafeTRX)
- This app is essential for race days as part of our race safety plan and checks.
- Please download app and watch the instructional videos before you arrive.
- On arrival at airport we will guide visitors to purchase SIM card and data if your phone does not have E-SIM capability.
- At registration we will have NSRI SafeTRX support team to help with set up if you still need.
- At race expo we will have vendors selling safety equipment including phone dry bags.
- On race day for NSRI SafeTRX you will need:
– Fully charged phone & drybag
– NSRI SafeTRX app downloaded on phone
– E-Sim or SA sim card with data
